Abstract:
A means is reported for measuring the speed of a shock wave front using superhigh frequency wave is excited in a wind tunnel the wave, reflected from the shock wave front, interferes with the forward wave, as a result of which a standing wave develops in the tunnel. With displacement of the shock wave front, a periodic change occurs in the standing wave phase at the site of the pickup. By measuring time intervals the speed of the shock wave front is determined.
