The final report contains a description of some theoretical studies of the influence of evaporation and drop-interactions on a rainshaft, and an assessment, resulting from the experiments, of the feasibility of dispersing fogs by electrical forces. The fog dissipation experiments have demonstrated that the presence of high charges on drops greatly increases the rate at which they coalescence with smaller droplets, and so grow. Subject to satisfactory resolution of some engineering problems it appears, on the basis of these experiments, that the introduction of charged drops can possibly provide a feasible technique for the dispersion of quiescent warm fogs over airport runways.
