Abstract:

The study arose during an investigation of the sediments of the Greater Antilles Outer Ridge, which in initial research were determined to be abyssal brown lutites of dominantly terrigenous derivation interbedded with occasional calcareous lutites. The origin of this accumulation of sediment and the geologic evolution of the Greater Antilles Outer Ridge was chosen as the topic of this research effort.
