Abstract:
Comprised of a specially modified DET-250 tractor and a semitrailer excavating unit, the ETR-254 excavator is the first continuous-action machine designed to excavate trenches with a main pipeline diameter of 1420 mm, in soils up to the fifth group inclusive, and also in soils frozen to 1.5 meters. The trailer chassis is joined to the tractor in a novel way by pins located in the middle part of the treads, ensuring uniform distribution of tread pressure on the ground in both the excavating and the highway position. The new excavator Industrial Model Certificate 1011, Bulletin of Inventions, 1970, No. 29 has been recommended for mass production.
