Abstract:
The authors repeated observations of the galactic center in the vicinity of the deuterium ground-state hyperfine transition at 327 MHz. In this years observations, they tried to use a wider bandwidth to better match the possible line shape while increasing the baseline. Not all the baseline appears interference free, and the overall noise level after 40 hours on source to last years. The absorption dip that would correspond to a deuterium line at vLSR-3.7 kmsec again appears, with a comparable, statistically insignificant strength. Merging the data from both years gives an upper limit of 3.5 x 10 to the minus 4th power and a range, if the absoprtion is the deuterium line, from 3.5 x 10 to the minus 4th power to 2 x 10 to the minus 5th power. This implies cosmic densities insufficient to close the universe. Author
