Abstract:

A standard Model 1400 RefrigeratorLiquefier was modified to provide special features to simplify the interface with an experimental superconducting motor, and to incorporate flexibility to allow for the investigation of alternate refrigerator cycles. This manual supplement identifies the modifications and is intended to be used in addition to the standard Model 1400 Operators Manual. Description, operating instructions, and parts identification for the additional assemblies are included. Test results and analysis related to preliminary work done at CTi are presented as a guide for initial use at the USN Ship Research and Development Center. Author
