Let pi sub 1, pi sub 2,...,pi sub k be k independent binomial populations such that the random observations X sub i from pi sub i has the frequency bnp sub i, i1,2,...,k. In this paper, our purpose is to study a procedure to select a subset of these populations containing the population whose parameter value equals the largest p sub i. The results in this paper complement the results of Gupta and Sobel 1960, especially for smaller values of n. Another procedure to select a subset which excludes all inferior populations is also studied. Tables of constants for the first procedure have been computed for k or 3 and are given at the end of the paper. Author
