Various Army Materiel Command Headquarters personnel have observed apparent lags in adjusting Secondary item stockage levels consistent with Force changes. The obvious result is weakened supply effectiveness and excessive operating costs. The report is a qualitative analysis of the timeliness and validity of end item density data used by wholesale and overseas Command Supply Management. The process examined begins with the Department of the Army Force specification and terminates with the end item density entry into Supply Control Studies. A limited analysis is also made of Overseas Command procedures for force change reaction. Author
