A study was made of human factors affecting operations of U.S. Navy destroyers. Shipboard duties were analyzed to determine factors relevant to job performance. Topics included vigilance and motivation search techniques sensor optimization mans total environment factors such as fatigue, stress, lighting, temperature, noise, medication, and smoking group and individual psychological needs human engineering requirements and typical performance effectiveness criteria.
