The Third International Conference on the Strength of Metals Alloys, sponsored by the Institute of Metals, the Iron and Steel Institute, and the U.S. Army European Research Office, was held at Cambridge, England in August 1973. The topics covered in this Conference ranged over the following areas Fundamental strengthening mechanisms, strengthening in commercial materials, interdependence of strength ductility at low temperatures, creep strength ductility, composites metal matrix, particle hardening, formability workability, fatigue, environmental influences in service, future materials design, solution hardening.
