Abstract:
UE IS DESCRIBED WHICH EMPLOYS LUMPED ELEMENT REACTANCES IN COMBINATION WITH A LUMPED ELEMENT CIRCULATOR TO ACHIEVE WIDE BAND ISOLATOR CHARACTERISTICS. Reactive elements, such as capacitors, have been placed into the circuit in such a way as to maintain the relative relationships between the positive and negative circularly polarized waves essential for nonreciprocity over a wide band of frequencies. Isolation above 15 dB with one dB insertion loss has been obtained from 245 to 350 MHz, while isolation above 20 dB, is maintained from 240 to 400 MHz with insertion loss rising linearly with frequency to a maximum of about 2.5 dB at 400 MHz.
