In the chain of processes determining the initiation and the course of anaphylactic shock, the activation of individual proteolytic enzymes G. Ungar and the activation of poorly differentiated enzymatic systems, in particular lecithinase, have been demonstrated. The activation of lecithinase leads to the destruction of the basophil tissue with subsequent release of histamine and other biologically active compounds. On the basis of these facts, single studies of the lipid metabolism during anaphylaxis have been made. The purpose of this work is to compare the phospholipid changes in single and in repeated anaphylactic shocks for a long period of time. The conditions of the chronic experiment were chosen so as to best resemble the changes occurring during bronchial asthma in men.
