Experimental Study of the Allergenic Action of Ortho- and Para-Nitrochlorobenzene,
FOREIGN TECHNOLOGY DIV WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OHIO
Pagination or Media Count:
Various compounds of benzene are included among wide-spread atmospheric contaminants. The compounds ortho-nitrochlorobenzene ONCB and para-nitrochlorobenzene PNCB can be found in the air over populated places in contents which exceed the permissible standard. It should be noted that the discharges from production of nitrochlorobenzene usually contain a complex of its isomers. During industrial preparation of ONCB and PNCB the compound 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene 2, 4-DNCB is formed as a by-product. It is known that 2,4-DNCB possesses sharply expressed allergenic properties. Results of tests on the sensitization of animals to this compound are reported.
