A Tracer Study of Meteorological Influence on the Dispersion of Ground-Applied Insecticide Aerosols.

Dispersion of insecticide aerosols was studied at a residential test site under a variety of nocturnal conditions. Five programmed sequential aerosol samplers were used to capture fluorescent particle traced aerosol droplets. Measurements were conducted at ground and elevated locations. Simultaneous and coincident biological measurements were performed with live caged mosquitos in order to assess standard rate ULV ultra-low volume applications of malathion insecticide. Meteorological measurements included vertical temperature and wind structures, atmospheric turbulence, net radiation, and reference wet and dry bulb temperatures. Modified author abstract
