The NRL Air Monitoring Station was constructed for the purpose of housing instruments necessary for measuring various air pollutants of the ambient atmosphere. It houses instruments for measuring low concentrations of sulfur dioxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, methane, carbon monoxide, and total hydrocarbons. These instruments are automatic, real time, continuous analyzers using the most modern principles of physical and chemical methods of analysis. The instruments analyze air from a continuous flow of air through a three-inch diameter sampling manifold which projects eight feet above the roof of the building. Modified author abstract
