Abstract:
The objective of the study was to assess and isolate factors which contributed to the success or failure of two delivery systems utilized by the DMSDS Direct Mail Shelter Development System to promote adoption of slanting techniques. Four states Nebraska, Kansas, California and Utah were selected for examining the DMSDS via university service centers and three states South Carolina, California and Utah for examining the DMSDS via state CD office-affiliated technical services. All state officials and advisory service directors in these states were interviewed along with a telephone interview survey of a matched sample of architects and owners of the buildings processed by the DMSDS.
