Abstract:

The study reports on ECC research and development in the mechanics of deformable solids. Topics covered include fracture and fracture mechanics, fatigue, wear, strengthening mechanisms and finite element methods. It summarizes the most important and recent theories, presents experimental approaches where appropriate, and gives examples applied to materials of known or expected military significance.
