The formulation is based on the assumed-stress hybrid model and the initial stress included by modifying the conventional hybrid functional, resulting in a consistently derived equivalent load vector due to the initial stress. Also included in the formulation is an equivalent load term corresponding to the possible compatibility mismatch at each incremental step. The formulation and the corresponding solution procedure are evaluated using a particular plane-stress example, and convergence of the solution is shown. Author
