Abstract:

Since 1964 the people of Brazil have been living under an oppressive military government which not only does not intend to turn the government back to the people but seems to have the support of the United States in its activities. A revolution of violetn nature is very possible in the near future. The only segment of the Brazilian society that can prevent a violent and bloody overthrow of the status quo is the Catholic Church. If it is encouraged and able to use its great influence, and if it is not already too late, the church can help in bringing peace and justice and stability to Brazil. With the proper assistance of the United States interests thic can happen more quickly and less violently.
