A ray method formalism is developed for the three dimensional propagation of small amplitude internal waves in an inviscid, incompressible fluid of arbitrary stable stratification in the presence of a transverse ambient flow. One of deduced results of the formalism is conservation of action density in the general context. Some of the unussual features of the propagation of these waves are discussed with special attention given to the reflection of internal waves. Author
