Abstract:
Experimental evidence is presented for transversely isotropic glass- epoxy to show that shear strength determinations using the short-beam shear method ASTM D2344-67 AGREE WELL WITH THE RESULTS OF TUBE TORSION FOR A CERTAIN VOLUME FRACTION RANGE. In all cases short-beam shear results bound tube torsion results from below. Comparison of short beam and tube torsion shear strength may be a convenient measure of fabrication effectiveness.
