Abstract:

The work during the Grant period was directed toward the study of catalysis of nonradiative decay processes in the electronically excited states of organic molecules. There were two complementary approaches 1 study of quenching of fluorescence, and 2 study of bichromophoric compounds which contain an aromatic nucleus and another group of a type normally involved in bimolecular quenching. Results are briefly discussed. Modified author abstract
