Abstract:
A method of integral relations weighted residuals is applied to the solution of compressible boundary flow problems. This method uses exponentials in velocity, enthalpy, and concentration approximations and weighting functions. The integral relations are formulated for unspecified order N of approximation. Some typical similar and non-similar flow problems are solved with this method. Results are presented for flow over isothermal flat plate, adiabatic flat plate, flat plate with hot spot, flat plate with hot bump, isothermal plate with ramp pressure gradient, discontinuous suction and blowing. These results are compared with available results. Experience with the method indicates that integral methods can be designed with the accuracy and generality of finite difference method, and that further improvements are possible. Author
