An Adaptive Extended Kalman Filter technique was developed to improve the tracking capabilities of an airborne tracking system. A maneuver determination technique was developed as well as an adaptive technique for the probability model of target acceleration. The computer simulation was run using four different types of data. Computation of the acceleration state was inaccurate due to imprecise modeling of the acceleration states. The adaptive technique reduced the range error of the non-adaptive filter. A maneuver was determined when a bias was detected on the range measurement residual. Author
