Abstract:

Basic to the acquisition of intelligence information from aerial surveillance reconnaissance sensor products is the ability of the image interpreter to distinguish objects from their background and correctly identify targets on the product imagery. The document reports on the evaluation of two systematic search strategies and a speed-reading technique for use in training interpreters to search imagery more rapidly and to improve detection accuracy and completeness.
