Abstract:
An experimental program was conducted in order to determine the temperature profile in a cylindrical shell heated along two opposite generators. Many experimental tests were performed. Aluminum cylindrical shells were tested on a test rig designed for this case. The heating was performed by two line heaters and the temperature distribution as function of time and space was measured by a set of thermocouples located on the surface of the shell. A closed form solution for the respective heat transfer problem is given. The agreement between theory and experiments is very good. Author
