The book discusses the physical bases and methods of theoretical calculation of gas-dynamic and intraballistic processes occurring in solid-propellant rocket systems engines, generators, rocket-barrel setups. Attention is given to the deriving of dependences of the basic parameters of working processes, to analyzing conditions and areas of their application and to contriving simplified engineering methods for their calculation and evaluation. A gas-dynamic theory of intraballistic processes is developed in detail and equations of motion of homogeneous and two-phase combustion products in a chamber are obtained. Also described are methods of calculating steady-state values of the intraballistic characteristics of systems. Methods of calculating thrust, specific thrust and specific impulse and losses of specific impulse in a combustion chamber and in a nozzle are examined.
