Abstract:

The authors propose in this Russian translation a refinement of the Williams-Landel-Ferry equation for the temperature dependence of the relaxation time during the rapid stage of physical relaxation of polymers above the glass- transition temperature Tc. In this equation they have considered the dependence of Tc on the cooling rate in place of coefficient a2, having the dimension of temperature and a function of the type of polymer, they have introduced a dimensionless, practically universal constant a0 1 - a2Tc about 0.68.
