Abstract:

The idea of optimal coordinates, which was first developed by Kaplun 1954 and later extended by Legner 1971, is extended further in the present work and is used to analyze several viscous flow problems. Optimal coordinates are found for incompressible flow past wedges and cones and for supersonic compressible flow past a flat plate. Author
