Abstract:

Bottom trawling during voyages of the TUNETS and MELITOPOL sampled populations of young cod less than 36cm long i.e., less than commercial-sized in the Barents Sea. Young cod in the southern Barents Sea were most numerous in the eastern and coastal regions and rarest in the northeast. Most of the cod were of the 1964 generation and were not classified as young. Most young cod in the Spitzbergen-Bear Island region were found on Bear Island Bank. Author
