Natural forest trees, man-planted shade trees, metal lantern poles and building structures were used as efficient HF radio antennas with the aid of Hybrid Electromagnetic Antenna Couplers HEMACs. The performance of live trees and of inanimate metal structures as antennas is compared with the performance of conventional HF whip and dipole antennas. Similar practical data are given on the LF radio signal emission capabilities of hugh steel-concrete buildings and on LF radio signal diffusion via electrical power and water distribution systems in suburban areas.
