An investigation was made into the effects of technological sophistication on organizational practices in both Navy and civilian settings. It was hypothesized that workers in environments with more sophisticated technologies would experience better organizational practices than workers in less sophisticated technologies. Further research is needed before the meaning of the findings for the larger theory on which this study was based can be assessed. Modified author abstract
