Measurements of the resistivity 0.4 to 300K, magnetic susceptibility 1.4 to 300K, magnetization and magnetoresistance in applied magnetic fields up to 59kOe have been made on the following alloy systems. CuFe, CuAuFe, AuTi, AuCr, AuMn, AuFe, AuCo, AuNi, PdMn, PdFe, PdCo, PtFe and PtCo. Four aspects of the properties were studied in detail. 1 The intrinsic properties of isolated impurities. These are discussed in terms of spin fluctuation or Kondo models. The sign of the magnetoresistivity and the temperature coefficient of the resistivity is explained on a phase shift model. The effect of interactions between impurities on their intrinsic properties. The nature and properties of the magnetically ordered state in more concentrated alloys. Deviations from Matthiessens Rule in the resistivities of dilute alloys. Modified author abstract
