Cyclonic cloud vortices differ by the large variety of their shapes and dimensions. But in each cloud vortex it is possible to observe a basic cloud spiral, which looks like a cloud band approximately from 100 to 400 km wide, the curvature of which gradually decreases with distance from the cloud vortex. Analysis of 120 cyclonic cloud vortices, selected from the period of observations from April, 1966, to December 1967, over Europe and Western Siberia, shows that in cloud vortices it is possible to trace from one to several spirals. From the morphological indications it is possible to isolate three basic forms of cyclonic cloud vortices.
