The report justifies the use of established statistical methods to obtain confidence intervals for measures of weapon system effectiveness. These methods apply to effectiveness measures that are generated by sampling mathematically simulated weapontarget encounters. Methods applicable for use with continuously distributed functions and with zero-or-one measures of effectiveness are briefly described, and illustrative examples are worked through in detail. Author
