A method of producing a powder charge for wear-resistant materials with the coatings of the solid lubricants binding the components, is distinguished by the fact that for the purpose of raising the wear resistance of the materials, a mixture consisting of the powders of the solid lubricants and metallic oxides which interact with water glass, is added to the sodium silicate solution at a temperature of 40-80C. This forms a solid mass which after hardening is ground, and then treated with water and subsequently dried.
