Abstract:

An attempt was made to relate true-stresstrue-strain behaviour to hardness and subgrain size for copper that had been compressed varying amounts up to true strains of 3. While some of the results obtained agree with those of Cairns et al., it has been found that certain empirical relationships between structure and properties are not as straight-forward as is often suggested. The purpose of the note, therefore, is to indicate some of the limitations that have been observed during this investigation.
