Not long ago it was established that the combustion rate u of a number of explosives VV decreases with increased pressure P within a certain interval. A similar relationship, as has been shown, can also be obtained for ballistite-type powders using combined catalysts consisting of, for example, lead and copper compounds. The mechanism of rate decrease with pressure increase is still not clear. The report studies temperature distribution during the combustion of a sample of N powder without catalysts standard and a sample containing lead-copper catalysts and having a negative u P relationship in the 50 - 90 kgsq cm interval.
