Abstract:
The report analyzes tasks the Army must perform in the 1970s, based on current trends and the foreseeable world situation. The Army must recruit and train an all-volunteer force, develop new leadership skills, improve its morale and public image, learn better methods for internal defense operations, operate overseas, and carry out major changes in its attitudes and organizational structure. Psychological problems presented by these tasks are reviewed and psychological techniques available to help solve these problems are discussed.
