Abstract:
Historys greatest value lies, not in telling us what to do, but in warning us of the pitfalls. The paper represents an attempt to strip out the emotional and put into proper perspective pertinent aspects of granting amnesty. Data was gathered using a literature search. Such search was significantly revealing of public apathy. Most of the articles, by far, were vehement in their support of amnesty. From the articles, it becomes apparent that the amnesty issue is very complex and hazy in concept. The entire spectrum, from ultra pro-amnesty to extremely contra-amnesty, is represented.
