Abstract:
The basic question regarding the optimum ratio of Active Army to Reserve Component forces has never been satisfactorily answered. One of the contributing reasons for the information gap is a lack of understanding between Active Army and Reserve Components regarding each others capabilities. There is an immediate need to increase this understanding. One method for accomplishing closer coordination and understanding would be through the use of Active Army personnel directly assigned in the organization structure of Reserve Component Units. This method is presently in use in many other democratic countries. Modified author abstract
