A comparison using analytic methods was made between a dedicated and a multiple access-discrete address communication system. The measure of effectiveness used was the probability that a message would be blocked from entering the system. Two types of blockages were identified station busy, frequency busy. It was shown that if net messages are taken into consideration the advantages of a multiple access-discrete address communications system are not as great as have been previously reported. Author
