Abstract:
Described in this Russian patent is a method of obtaining ferrocene by the interaction of anhydrous ferrous chloride, diethylamine and cyclopentadiene. The process is carried out in an excess of diethylamine with the subsequent separation of the end product by redistillation with steam, and by washing it with boiling distilled water. Anhydrous ferrous chloride was produced by heating hydrous ferrous chloride to 160C in a vacuum. Author Modified Abstract
