The objectives of the program were To develop computer programs that will yield realistic solutions to metalworking equations by adequately accounting for work hardening, strain rate, thermoplasticity, friction, geometry, size effects and anisotropy To determine the materials parameters in the metalworking equations To interpret the material behavior during metalworking To evaluate in detail the microstructure through all stages of metalworking To evaluate friction and lubrication in metalworking.
