Abstract:

Existing flow visualization techniques are considered which are relevant to the study of wind effects on fluff bodies. A number of these are described in some detail in particular, smoke filaments, dye streaks, wall tracers, hydrogen bubbles and tufts. Representative examples of the application of these techniques are presented. The paper has been prepared for presentation in a 1972 lecture series on wind effects on buildings and structures held at the Von Karman Institute, Rhode-St.-Genese. Author Modified Abstract
