The report contains the individual progress reports of seven faculty and students working on the THEMIS program entitled Efficient Digital Encoding Methods for Improved Military Communication Systems, Contract No. F44620-69-C-0033, Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The individual progress reports contain brief summaries of the research work being done in the following areas digital encoding systems for speech, digital encoding systems for television, and the theory of digital encoding systems.
