Abstract:

A specification has been developed describing the design of a continuous flow mobile bioassay and general purpose field laboratory for use by the US Army Environmental Hygiene Agency USAEHA. The specification is complete with drawings and is suitable for inclusion with a purchase request for procurement of the mobile unit. It outlines the requirements for the laboratory vehicle construction, safety features, equipment load, utilities, and testing requirements. A number of alternative concepts, methods, and equipment items were considered for the major design features. These alternatives are presented along with the reasons for selection. A cost estimate is included.
