The paper investigates the stochastic behavior of a non-homogeneous, multitype carrier-borne epidemic in which there is a spatial distribution of carriers and susceptibles. Techniques are developed for formulating a suitable model and obtaining an exact analysis for the quantities which are of interest in an epidemic. The model also allows for consideration of movement among the carrier population. Author
