Abstract:
The feasibility of disseminating o-chlorobenzal malononitrile CS as a two-component aerosol system was studied. The rate of CS formation from o- chlorobenzaldehyde OCBA and malononitrile MN with and without catalyst was followed using gas liquid chromatography GLC. The object of the study is to develop a method of controlling the rate of reaction in an enclosed space, such as a tunnel, in such a manner as to produce CS in an effective concentration over a minimum period of six months.
