Abstract:

An analysis is presented of the mixing characteristics of steady and intermittent blowing when applied for boundary layer control. The analysis considers blowing tangent to the surface of a flap at deflection angles of 0 deg and 40 deg. It is shown that, relative to the steady jet, mixing with the external stream is increased considerably for the intermittent jet. Author
